What If It Were You?

Another Christmas is almost here and still an innocent man sets on the other side of the fence locked away from his wife Melinda and two boys. This will be his fifth Christmas in the Lebanon Corrections facility with life to go. It has been an absolute nightmare for his family who have spent well over $100.000.00 to date to try and have these charges cleared. But the state of Ohio keeps turning a deaf ear. They have a conviction and thats all they care to know. How a jury could give a man a life sentence without one piece of physical evidence is totally beyond me. What ever happened to reasonable doubt?

THE ELKINS FAMILY

I first heard about Clarence Elkins on the T.V. show American Justice and I 'm so glad that they were able to air this for the Elkins family. I just could not imagine the police coming to my house and arresting me for something that I did not do and then being given a life sentence for it. This is just what has happened though. I am trying to help the Elkins family to raise enough money to have one more DNA test ran that would ultimatly free Clarence.
You can read more details about this story in an artical that I wrote entitled "A FAMILY DESPERATLY NEEDS OUR HELP" You can also visit the web site by clicking onto the link below. You can help by giving a few dollars, even if its only two or three, whatever you can give will help. Or you can also help by getting the word out to others by sending emails.
You can send Clarence an email too and let him know that you are behind him and that you will remember him in your prayers. Any support at all will be so greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! GCJ

I am not at all surprised at this story. Our legal system is so very flawed. On a much smaller scale, I too have been the victim of "blind justice" and have not in the last 8 months been able to persuade the courts to REALLY look at my proof of not being guilty of false charges. The judges won't even consider the body of evidence I have, nor will the courts entertain the testimonies of the eye witnesses to the events I bring as proof of my innocence. It's so very frustrating! The guilty person walks free, unfettered in his movements and actions, and I am on probation for something I didn't do. It also pays to have a well-connected attorney who knows what he/she is talking about. America is not always the home of the free, is it?

hi ther,e sorry that you all had to spent another holiday season without your loved one.I watched the documentery a few nights agoa,it made me mad that the prosecution and police would not consider the fact thatthe tissiue under the fingernails would not be tested which everyone knows that it would free your husband, all the prosecutier is woorried about is the fact he knows there is an innocent man imprisoned and if he or sould i say when he is free that he might SUE the justice system and prove the prosecuter was to thickheaded to see the real facts. so hopefully that this is the year to see the real killer put justice. best of luck,,,,,,eddie

Thanks Eddie, The wheels of jusice turn very slow, but Clarence's attorney and I are working very dilligently to get things rolling. There is a story featured in the National Examiner, I was ok but missed some crucial information. Any exposure to this sory is welcome. I'm going to try as I have to keep it a hot button so Summit County cannot sweep it under their muchneeded unvaccumed rug!!!! Rest assured I am working on it...Melinda

By the way, Martin Yant has been and continues to be an important key player in this case. If it were not for him we wouldn't have gotten this far. He is not only a Private Eye but a journalist and author as well. Check out his new book online. I think you can find it under his website. Martin Yant.com Thanks Melinda
