Christmas Joy In Baghdad Today

The people of Iraq celebrated in the streets this morning as news of the capture of the elusive Saddam Hussein reached their ears. Gun blasts were fired into the air and people were dancing in the streets of Baghdad and in many other cities throughout Iraq. What wonderful news. There is Christmas joy in Baghdad today. As word has it, Saddam was captured and taken alive this morning December 13th 2003 at about 8:13 P.M. Saturday evening, Baghdad time. It was reported that Saddam was found dug into a celler in a small town about eight miles south of his home town of Tikrit were U.S. and coalition had suspected him to be hiding out all along. He was also found with $750,000 in American one hundred dollar bills in his possession and a pistol strapped to his side. He was hardly even recognizable, as he had lost much weight and his hair was greying. There were no injuries and in fact not a single shot was fired. For the last month intelligence tips had narrowed down the where abouts of Saddam. About 600 soldiers of special operations forces were involved in the capture. Two other Iraqies were also found with Saddam and arrested. Today is a day of great history for the people of Iraq.
President Geogre W. Bush has made good on his word when he said that we would hunt them down and smoke them out of their holes. Saddam Hussein underwent a medical examination after his capture and was determined to be in good health. DNA samples are also being taken. Saddam is currently being held in an undisclosed location but, one thing for sure is, he will not be attending church services this Sunday morning. GCJ
